Bardiya National Park Tour-4 Days

Trip Overview

Nestled in the far western region of Nepal, Bardiya National Park serves as a vital refuge for some of the country’s rarest and most endangered wildlife. Originally established to conserve rapidly declining species, the park is home to the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger, alongside a host of other fascinating creatures.

This remote and unspoiled haven shelters an incredible array of species, including the endangered One-Horned Rhinoceros, Asiatic Wild Elephants, Swamp Deer, Blackbuck Antelope, and two species of crocodiles—the Gharial and the Marsh Mugger. The park is also one of the last remaining habitats of the Gangetic River Dolphin. More than 30 types of mammals and over 400 recorded bird species make this park a thriving hotspot for nature and bird lovers alike.

Why Choose Bardiya for a Wildlife Experience?

Unlike the busier Chitwan National Park, Bardiya offers a more tranquil, authentic, and crowd-free jungle experience. For eco-travelers, photographers, and wildlife lovers, it’s an ideal location to observe animals in their natural habitat with fewer disturbances.

One of Bardiya’s biggest draws is the impressive chance of spotting a Royal Bengal Tiger—with sighting probabilities reaching up to 80% depending on the time of year. If fortune favors you, you may even catch this majestic predator up close during your jungle excursions—an unforgettable moment etched into memory.

Whether you're an avid naturalist, a passionate photographer, or simply someone seeking a deeper connection with the wild, the Bardiya Safari Expedition promises a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in one of Nepal’s most captivating natural sanctuaries.

Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj & Drive to Bardiya National Park

Following your scheduled domestic flight to Nepalgunj, we will transfer you from your hotel to the airport for a scenic 90-minute flight across the lowlands of western Nepal. Upon landing, a private transfer will escort you to Bardiya National Park, where a warm welcome and refreshing drinks await at the lodge. You’ll receive a short orientation about the upcoming adventure. After settling in, we’ll take a cultural walk to a traditional Tharu village, where you'll gain insight into the unique heritage, lifestyle, and traditions of this indigenous community.

Day 02: Full-Day Jungle Exploration & Elephant-Back Safari

Today is all about immersive wildlife exploration. The day begins with an exciting elephant-back safari through the dense sal forests and grasslands of Bardiya. Elephants, with their towering height and trained movement, allow us to access areas of the park otherwise unreachable on foot, offering a safe and intimate way to spot wildlife. Keep your camera ready—you’ll have ample opportunities to photograph animals such as deer, wild boars, monkeys, and, with some luck, the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger or a one-horned rhinoceros.

Day 03: Wildlife Raft Safari & Tiger Tracking

Today’s adventure combines water and land. We begin with a gentle rafting journey along the Karnali River, one of Nepal’s largest and most biodiverse waterways. This eco-rafting tour offers a unique vantage point to observe animals visiting the riverbanks and a potential chance to witness freshwater Gangetic dolphins. The calm waters and surrounding forest also provide excellent opportunities for birdwatching. Later in the day, we’ll continue with tiger tracking and further wildlife spotting on foot, guided by an experienced naturalist.

Day 04: Return to Kathmandu

After an early breakfast, we’ll transfer you back to Nepalgunj Airport for your return flight to Kathmandu. If flight timing allows, you may have some free time in Nepalgunj to relax before departure. Upon arrival in the capital, you’ll be picked up and transferred back to your hotel, concluding your jungle adventure.
