Day 01: Arrival in Paro & Local Sightseeing (Altitude: 2,250m)

Upon arrival in Bhutan, one of our friendly representatives will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. After a delicious lunch, we’ll begin exploring Paro’s cultural gems:

    Rinpung Dzong: A majestic 16th-century fortress-monastery renowned for its stunning Bhutanese architecture and rich heritage.
    Kyichu Lhakhang: One of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples, dating back to the 7th century. Its intricate design and peaceful ambience make it a must-visit.
    Drugyal Dzong: A picturesque fortress in ruins, located 10 km from Paro. On clear days, enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Chomolhari (7,314m), Bhutan’s second-highest peak.

Relax and settle in for an overnight stay in Paro.


Day 02: Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) & Drive to Thimphu

After breakfast, embark on a 4–5 hour hike to the legendary Taktsang Monastery (3,180m), dramatically perched on a cliff above Paro Valley. This sacred site is one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks.

Post-hike, we’ll drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s vibrant capital city, and spend the night there.


Day 03: Thimphu Sightseeing

Today, immerse yourself in Thimphu’s unique blend of tradition and modernity:

    Memorial Chorten: A striking stupa built in memory of Bhutan’s third king.
    National Institute of Traditional Medicine & Heritage Museum: Learn about Bhutanese healing practices and cultural history.
    Tashichho Dzong: A grand fortress that serves as the seat of Bhutan’s government and religion.
    Traditional Paper Factory & Mini Zoo: Get insights into Bhutanese crafts and spot the rare Takin, Bhutan’s national animal.

On weekends, we’ll visit the bustling Weekend Market instead of any closed landmarks. Overnight in Thimphu.


Day 04: Scenic Drive to Punakha & Visit Punakha Dzong

After breakfast, enjoy a picturesque drive to Punakha, following the meandering Wang Chhu River. En route:

    Dochula Pass (3,100m): Marvel at the panoramic Himalayan vistas and the 108 chortens (stupas).
    Chimi Lhakhang: A temple dedicated to fertility blessings, famed for its vibrant history and cultural significance.

In Punakha, explore the magnificent Punakha Dzong, an architectural masterpiece nestled at the confluence of two rivers. Overnight in Punakha.


Day 05: Journey from Punakha to Bumthang

Embark on a full-day drive (approx. 7 hours) to Bumthang, traversing dramatic mountain passes, serene valleys, and traditional villages.

Pause in Trongsa for lunch and visit Trongsa Dzong, the largest and most spectacular fortress in Bhutan.

Enjoy a smooth journey on well-maintained roads before reaching Bumthang. Overnight stay in Bumthang.


Day 06: Trek to Ngang Lhakhang (2–3 Hours)

Start the day with a scenic trek to Ngang Lhakhang, also known as the Swan Temple. The trail follows the tranquil Chamkhar Chu River, passing Thangbi Lhakhang and Zangling Lhakhang before entering Ngang Yul (Land of Swans).

Camp overnight at Ngang Lhakhang (Altitude: 2,900m).


Day 07: Trek to Ugyen Choling (2–3 Hours)

Today’s moderate trek takes you through enchanting forests and open valleys towards Ugyen Choling, known for its rich heritage and traditional architecture.

Visit the Ugyen Choling Palace, now a museum preserving Bhutanese history and craftsmanship. Camp by the riverside under a star-lit sky (Altitude: 2,895m).


Day 08: Trek Back to Jakar/Bumthang

After breakfast, descend to Kizam, where your vehicle will be waiting. A short drive brings you back to Bumthang. En route, visit Mebartsho (Burning Lake), a revered pilgrimage site.

Overnight stay in Bumthang.


Day 09: Bumthang to Wangdue

Spend the morning browsing Bumthang’s local markets, then journey to Wangdue, a town celebrated for its slate carvings and traditional stonework. Overnight in Wangdue.


Day 10: Return to Paro

Begin the drive back to Paro with stops along the way:

    Chimi Lhakhang: Revisit this charming temple for a peaceful break.
    Dochula Pass: Savor a delicious lunch with Himalayan views at the Druk Wangyal Monastery.

Upon arrival in Paro, enjoy leisure time to shop for souvenirs or explore the town’s vibrant streets. Overnight in Paro.


Day 11: Departure from Bhutan

After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
