Ama Dablam Expedition (6,812m / 22,349ft): The Jewel of the Khumbu
Ama Dablam, a sharply rising pyramid-shaped peak in Nepal’s northeastern Himalayan belt, graces the skyline of the Khumbu region with its dramatic elegance. Once deemed unclimbable, this iconic mountain was first successfully summited in 1961 by an American team via the southwest ridge. Today, it ranks as the third most sought-after peak in the Himalayas for mountaineering permits.
This 30-day journey is nothing short of an extraordinary alpine adventure, combining elite technical climbing with jaw-dropping Himalayan landscapes. Reaching the summit of Ama Dablam rewards climbers with sweeping vistas of legendary peaks like Everest, Makalu, and Lhotse.
Famed as one of the most visually striking ascents in the Nepalese Himalayas, Ama Dablam remains a dream objective for seasoned climbers. Due to its demanding terrain and vertical rock faces, this expedition requires prior mountaineering experience, high-altitude acclimatization, a valid climbing permit, and the accompaniment of a liaison officer throughout the expedition.
The adventure begins with a picturesque flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by a trek through charming Sherpa settlements along the Dudh Koshi River. The climb itself commences after establishing Base Camp, moving through Camp 1, Camp 2, and the intermediate Camp 2.7. Multiple rotations are done for acclimatization before making the final push to the summit. The expedition concludes with a return flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu.
