Annapurna Base Camp Trek-13 Days

Trip Overview

The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek is one of the most iconic and rewarding trekking adventures that leads you to the foot of Mt. Annapurna South. The base camp itself is a stunning amphitheater encircled by towering Himalayan giants. Adventure Aspirant has carefully curated this itinerary for those who wish to explore breathtaking alpine scenery, traditional Gurung villages, enchanting rhododendron forests glowing with pink, apricot, and crimson blossoms, and lush sub-tropical valleys—all nestled beneath the majestic Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

As you journey through the region, you'll be immersed in the authentic Nepalese way of life, experiencing distinct local traditions, hospitality, and cuisine. Along the way, the trail offers spectacular panoramic views of Himalayan peaks such as Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and more.

One memorable stop is at Jhinu Danda (1,870m), where you can unwind in natural hot springs—a perfect remedy for your trekking muscles.

At Annapurna Base Camp, trekkers are surrounded by dramatic glaciers and dominated by the breathtaking Annapurna massif. You’ll also visit Machhapuchhre Base Camp, creating unforgettable moments amidst snow-clad peaks.

There are two popular routes for this trek:

    The standard trail through Ghandruk
A scenic route via Ghorepani/Poon Hill, concluding in Pokhara

The trek takes you along ascending trails, over suspension bridges, through rhododendron and oak woodlands, and into vibrant Gurung communities. The sunrise from Poon Hill is a phenomenal spectacle as the Himalayan range is bathed in golden light—an experience that resonates with every traveler.

The Annapurna Base Camp trek via Ghorepani offers a magnificent blend of natural beauty and cultural richness. Beginning from terraced fields and dense forests, the trail leads you through lovely settlements like Ghorepani, ultimately reaching the tranquil Annapurna Sanctuary, a sanctuary cradled by mountains.

This trek is considered moderate in difficulty, suitable for those in good physical shape. On average, you’ll walk 4 to 5 hours daily along well-maintained stone trails and stairways.
