Accommodation and Meals

While you are in Kathmandu, your stay will be arranged in a comfortable tourist-standard hotel. During the trek, accommodation will be in local teahouses, where rooms are typically shared. Please keep in mind that the Annapurna region is quite remote, so facilities in teahouses are basic compared to city hotels.

In Kathmandu, breakfast will be provided. During the trek, you will receive three meals a day. This includes breakfast and dinner at the teahouse where you stay, and lunch along the trail. Due to the remote nature of the region, meals will mainly consist of simple, hygienic, and locally sourced dishes such as dal bhat, Tibetan-style soups, bread, porridge, and similar items.

The Annapurna Panorama Trek, also widely known as the Poon Hill Trek, is one of Nepal’s most rewarding short trekking adventures. It is ideal for travelers seeking a relatively easy Himalayan experience packed with stunning mountain scenery, cultural encounters, and diverse landscapes.

One of the trek’s biggest highlights is the breathtaking sunrise and sunset views over iconic Himalayan peaks, including Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchare.

The route passes through rhododendron forests, terraced farmlands, and charming villages such as Ulleri, Ghorepani, and Ghandruk. Along the journey, trekkers can experience the warm hospitality and traditions of Gurung and Magar communities.

With Adventure Aspirant Pvt Ltd, this trek is suitable for all age groups, including families with children and senior trekkers.

2- Is the Annapurna Panorama Trek suitable for beginners?

Yes, this trek is considered easy to moderately challenging, making it an excellent option for first-time trekkers.

The route includes several uphill sections, especially the famous stone staircases around Tikhedhunga, Ulleri, and Ghorepani, which can feel demanding for those new to hiking. However, with a moderate level of fitness and determination, most people complete the trek comfortably.

The altitude remains manageable, reducing major high-altitude concerns. Still, basic preparation and steady pacing are important.

We recommend building your stamina beforehand, as daily walks usually range from 4 to 6 hours.

3- Is altitude sickness a concern on this trek?

The risk of altitude sickness on the Annapurna Panorama Trek is very low.

The highest point reached is Poon Hill at 3,210 meters. While altitude-related symptoms can begin above 2,500 meters, the gradual ascent of this itinerary allows your body enough time to adjust naturally.

Most trekkers complete this route without experiencing serious altitude-related discomfort. Even so, staying hydrated and walking at a comfortable pace is always advised.

4- What is the best season for this trek?

The Annapurna Panorama Trek can be completed year-round, but spring and autumn offer the best overall experience.

Autumn (September to November)
This is one of the most popular trekking seasons due to stable weather, crystal-clear skies, and spectacular mountain visibility.

Yes, the trek is possible in both seasons, though conditions differ.

Summer / Monsoon (June to August)
This period offers greener landscapes and fewer trekkers on the trail. However, expect rain, muddy paths, humidity, and occasional limited visibility.
